How can I use the Internet to Communicate and potentially Problem-solve Global Issues?

YouTube, Blogger, iGoogle, email, Etherpad etc, are all different ways of using the internet to communicate. These different communication devices are used around the world daily by more than half the world’s population. More than a billion different messages a year are sent across the world so why not send a message about global issues via these sites. There are many Global Issues that we are facing as a civilization today, but this time it is us who are causing the problems. We are affecting ourselves, causing global warming and mass destruction. As an increasing, and developing civilization we should be trying to prevent as much as we can, eg. recycling would cut down on the usage of fossil fuels and natural gasses, plants etc. We need to let people know what they are doing to ruin the planet as time is running out. If there are so many ways to communicate then maybe this could be the message that is sent around the world instead of a forwarded message that goes around every day for no reason.
